COVID fundamentally shifted renter preferences toward privacy, warmth, and functional work-from-home layouts. This soft-loft residence — originally defined by polished concrete floors and partially open bedrooms without full-height walls or doors — reflected an earlier industrial design trend that prioritized openness over separation.
We repositioned the unit to meet the new reality. Beyond upgrading flooring and introducing white marble bathrooms, we fully enclosed the primary bedroom and extended wall heights to create true, private rooms. The result is a warmer, more livable layout that supports remote work while maintaining the character of the building.
